Grand Theft Auto IV shoots Sales Records In The Face, Earns $500 Million In First Week

I recently came across this article on Orlandosentinel.com, No surprise here… Grand Theft Auto IV smashed records earning $500 million on 6 million units it’s first week, with $310 million of that and 3.6 million units sold on release day.

This announcement was reportedly made by Take-Two Interactive, by way of a press release which gives the details of Rockstar Games Grand theft Auto IV had broken the Entertainment Launch Records.

Take-Two Interactive said that Grand Theft Auto IV had surpassed the all-time entertainment records for day one and week one sales by dollar value.

Grand Theft Auto IV was released on Tuesday, April 29^th. This critically acclaimed video game has sold approximately 6 million units globally with an estimated revalue of more than $500 million in the first week alone. Grand Theft Auto IV sold approximately 3.6 million units on its opening day alone which translates to approximately $310 million globally.

They developers said that “We knew Grand Theft Auto IV would break new ground in terms of the player’s experience, with its compelling story line, extraordinary gameplay and action that ranges over a broad urban canvas.

Grand Theft Auto IV is a sandbox style action adventure computer and video game, produce by Rockstar North. It is the third 3D video game in the Grand Theft Auto Video game series.
